WarnerBros Opts Hybrid Model For 2021 Movie Releases

Warner Media has created sensation after announcing the hybrid format of its entire movie releases in 2021. Hybrid model is most heard from all production companies these days after the theaters were closed and no-one is ready to comeback and watch movie in theaters anytime soon due to Coivd-19.

So What is Hybrid Model?

Releasing the movie in theaters as well as OTT platform streaming simultaneously is called as Hybrid Model. Warner Media has initially opted this model for Wonder Woman 1984 movie and now they came up with this shocking decision to release its entire 2021 movies in the same format which could be a big blow to the entertainment industry.

All of their movies will be available on HBO Max and they will be available for one month. Movies will be available on theaters across the world wherever they are running. After one month is completed, movies will be not available on HBO max but they will be still running on theaters.

2) The Little Things - Jan 29

3) Tom and Jerry - March 5

4) The Many Saints Of Newark - Mar 12

5) Reminiscene - Apr 16

6) Godzilla Vs Kong - May 21

7) The Conjuring 3 - June 4

8) In The Heights - June 18

9) Space Jam: A New Legacy - Jul 16

10) The Suicide Squad - Aug 6

11) Dune - Oct 1

12) Elvis - Nov 5

13) King Richard - Nov 19

14) The Matrix 4 - Dec 22

15) Judas and The Black Messiah - TBA

16) Malignant - TBA

17) Those Who Wish Me Dead - TBA

WarnerBros is targeting markets where there is no HBO Max especially in countries from Europe, Asia and South America. While entertainment industry is in shock with this decision,  WarnerBros has said that they have opted this strategic plan due to the pandemic situation all over the world.

Warner Media has confirmed this is only their temporary plan for 2021 as the future is uncertain for next few months.

It is really exciting to see these movies releasing on HBO Max as well as theaters. Hybrid model could be a good move until the pandemic is gone completely. Many Movie Industries are looking forward to opt this model in different countries which could be a success formula for next few months.
